St. Pierre Academy is a 52-week cosmetology school designed to produce superior hair designers who can easily master the basics of cutting and coloring, but also the most up-to-date cutting and coloring techniques in today’s industry.

Our beauty school is well known for training Roanoke, Salem and the surrounding area's most cutting edge designers. Our graduates are highly regarded and sought after by other salons.

The distinct advantage to this beauty school is our environment. Our students learn on real clients from day one; not mannequins. This not only assists them in building their clientele while in cosmetology school, it greatly boosts their confidence level in their work and improves their communication skills. They are working in a salon and receiving the best hands-on experience in the state of Virginia. In addition to that comes following a structured curriculum, learning all facts about running and maintaining a salon, attending educational Hair Shows, and using our skills to do community service as well. We limit our enrollment to 3-4 students per semester for more one-on-one attention from Master Designer Cynthia St. Pierre and our group of licensed professionals who are all graduates of the cosmetology school.

Tuition

The tuition for our beauty school is $13,000 and covers the entire 52 weeks. It includes your supplies, text book and workbook, hair salon equipment and products. You will also receive intensive, hands-on cutting classes, in-salon training and internship. Blades, clippers, and mannequins (required for state board exams) are at the student's expense. We do not accept Financial Aid, but financing is available.

Our cosmetology school uses Milady's Standard Textbook of Cosmetology and Milady's Standard Theory Workbook, along with instructional videos by Rusk, Wella, Redken, Toni & Guy, Paul Mitchell and other internationally known hair corporations are used for student education and training.

Course Requirements

The study of Milady's Standard Textbook and Workbook of Cosmetology, and the completion of specific tasks necessary for state board preparation are requisite for graduating from our beauty school. In addition, 1500 hours of practical, hands-on experience and the demonstration of all key cosmetology skills is required. We require all students to attend two hair shows before graduation.
